Yes! That's what she should ask Santa for - to remove that Dougie out of her life. I thought the exchange with Waylon was so cute. I hope Dougie will not learn of the big money that Miranda got. And hopefully, Santa will move Tomlin out, too.

Thank you. Tomlin will be a tad troublesome but not in the way you imagine. Lol. Thanks so much. Gretchen

Hello Gretchen,
another great chapter gal. I see Dougie is being Dougie. What a piece of work. I don't know why Miranda doesn't just check out for an hour or so and get a shower. How could anyone stand to have sticky Dr. Pepper in their hair? I hope she gets a chance to clean up by the next chapter. I'm starting to feel like I need to go shower again. Well done gal.
Have a blessed evening.
Tom

If Dougie had smelled about the money then he would have stuck around .Mirada should not say anything about tis to Waylon.. I wish she would get a safer job.

Thank you so much. I'm betting Dougie already knew about the reward money. He's a scavenger. Thanks for this. Gretchen

Gretchen,

This is another great chapter of your book. It flows quite lovely to completion. I'm still curious what Miranda is going to do with all that money. I'm sure she'll figure something. Great author leaving me wanting more.

Great job my friend

Cecilia

Happy Thanksgiving!

Dougie is such a creep. I hope gets lost and never get back... or at least until Waylon is all grown up.

I wonder what I would do with 250,000 dollars. I think it could be expensive pretty fast. In southern California houses cost around half a million dollars and a new car 50,000 dollars.

But she could fix her house and maybe buy a small boat for Waylon. I stress about money, can you tell? LoL

I love your new chapter, well done!

I stress about money as well. Kind of nice for my character to have cart blanc. Thank you so much. Gretchen

"Say the word, Randa, and I'll disappear again. But this time it'll be your fault Waylon won't see me." Perfect, because that's what scumbags do: They blame others for the things they do themselves.

I enjoyed this chapter, Gretchen. Miranda seems so human and realistic here in that she's dying to let people know about her windfall, even though she knows not to make it too well known. And I loved the fact that she wants to keep her job and won't just quit now that she has money.

She is a good soul with nothing pretentious about her.

Dougie is a manipulator. He knows that Waylon is her Achilles heel. Thank you so much for this. Gretchen

You're way ahead of me. Lol. Will cook turkey tomorrow and slave away for a while. Thank you for this. Always appreciate your reviews. And extra thank you for the star. Have a happy Thanksgiving!! Gretchen

I cook the turkey on Thursday because Bobby and his family have always preferred "leftovers" to the hot Thanksgiving meal. It sure makes MY Thanksgiving Day easier. I serve up turkey sandwiches with homemade bread, homemade sweet potato fries, homemade potato salad and then crack out the desserts. Simple is good.

I'm glad Miranda didn't fall for all of Dougie's nonsense. She's way too smart for that. I can't wait to see what's going to happen next. I'm sure something will. It always does. Great write.

It's interesting how guys can remain that way like Dougie, I've known guys like thst, their egos are so big, there's no room in their inflated self worth, when things get tough, a conscience projects itself into consequences, and ultimately it stops you, I think someone may call that love. Beautifully written Gretchen, blessings Roy

Yes, those Dougie types we could certainly do without. But just look around, they are plentiful. Heck, they've now even got Dougie dance. Thanks for sharing.

I remember the Dougie dance. And you're right, there are plenty of Dougies around. Gretchen
