More drama all caused by Trenton himself and, perhaps, exacerbated by Marsha's 'hanging on' here... Another great addition to your story, my lady, although, I gotta say, neither Marsha nor Trenton are vying for my vote right now... :-) ;-) Thanx for sharing! :) Yvette

It's too bad Marsha may forgive her abusive husband. Unfortunately, even if he stays 3 more weeks he will be the same piece of shit. It would be great if she would leave him but that's probably not going to happen.

Well done, Beth, it's an intriguing story about domestic violence... it's a subject worth telling to raise awareness.

Thank you, Gypsy. She hasn't completely forgiven him. He has a lot of explaining to do but she will see through his lies. She still loves me.

I think this is the climax of the story. You have shown us that Marsha has developed a backbone. After all, Trenton didn't help Marsha with the kids at all so why would he want her to lie to cover for him? She does need to get him to come clean about the money he's been using for his mistress. Perhaps Marsha does need to consider divorce after all and not because of him suggesting it. She does have a case since he has been so deceptive and unfaithful for years.

Thank you, Helen. Marsha will have to do a bit more soul searching before she makes a final decision. I really appreciate the six stars.

I've been reviewing very little this week due to preparing for Thanksgiving and now cleaning up after. So I am happy I had a six for you!!

I'm glad to see Marsha standing up to Trenton, I think if he is let out early then he will just go back to his old ways again in no time at all and I think Marsha needs to protect herself and her family from that. Another well written, engaging piece, Beth.

Thank you, Jacob. She is realizing Trenton isn't serious about becoming sober. She knows she has some decisions to make.

Good for Marsha! As soon as he's home again, he'll be off with his other woman, who he spends the other half of his wages on. There is no way she wants to put up with that!! He's not concerned about Marsha, or his children. Why should she believe he's ready to come home? No way!! Well done, Beth, this is such a good story and I'm really enjoying it. :) Sandra xx

I hope I'm wrong, but this appears to be one of those situations where a self-centered, cheating drunk isn't too worried about anyone other than himself and his main squeeze. His job keeps the funds coming, and he is confident the wife and children will be home waiting no matter what.
Thanks for sharing another fine chapter.

This is an interesting story to continue, and you're continuing in an excellent fashion. I'm glad that Marsha is showing some backbone, and I'm sorry that Trenton is acting as expected.

I lived with a drug user. And, he always had excuses and was the champion user of the century. Nothing was his fault, he was picked on, he deserved better, and everything in his life beginned and ended with him. I don't believe he can change, because HE sees no need to.

I'm sure there are plenty of them out there. Did you stay because you love in and felt sorry for him? That is way my character hasn't gone to a lawyer.

Geez, Trenton seems to be getting nothing out of his time at the treatment center, and just wants to get back to his life, including everything he shouldn't be doing.

Poor Marsha, she really has a lot to deal with. Look forward to reading about those telephone calls.

Good chapter, Beth.

Thank you, Pam. Yes, it looks as if Trenton went to the treatment center not admitting that he was an alcoholic and needed help. You can't gain much that way. I appreciate the review.

Oh dear. The first step would be to acknowledge he has a problem but he still is not being honest with himself or with her. She needs to be strong and not bow to his request, otherwise he will still perceive he has power to make her do everything he wants. Well written.
