This story gets more exciting each time I read a chapter. I'm cheering for the creature who is taking out the abusive men. Your police detective is believable, and the reader is puzzling out the case along with him. There is only one sentence I would change. It's when Clara says, Thank you for being such a gentleman. I don't think she would say that, but it's only my opinion. The rest of the dialogue is excellent. gayla

Another great chapter, Steve. Dodie Rae and Bay Lynn have got Carey exceedingly confused now with their attempts to throw him off. But now it's getting curiouser and curiouser with the coroner's report of two attackers on Pete Carrington. I think he's about to put it all together, but it will certainly blow his mind to think about his two suspects turning themselves into wolves.
This is a cleverly wrought modern horror story. And I love the revenge theme because justice is being served, albeit in an unconventional but thoroughly appropriate way.

I thought you described Clara's fear really well in this scene and I thought this particularly came through well in her dialogue when she was describing what happened to Officer Carey. Another excellent chapter, Steve, I really enjoyed reading it.

I feel like you're right about Carey. He may end up feeling this is justified, especially later on in the book.

They started opening on Thanksgiving and Christmas in 2017. The only Christmas I've ever missed with my family was due to work, My dad died less than two weeks later with a heart attack. I refuse to work Christmas anymore. So I have to give up Thanksgiving without celebration. I'll be at work from 10-9.

Okay, I'm thinking that Officer Carey might start looking the other way once he realizes all of these men are abusive, apart from his partner. The fact that he smiled because the guy "got what he deserved". I liked this because it was a different perspective from Officer Carey. Another great chapter. Gretchen
