Interesting and informative. Communication and mental illness are complex subjects. Your writing was clear and concise. I couldn't quite understand the last part of the last sentence. Is class envy the correct word? I don't know. gayla

Of course you talking of good works as perceived by the culture of the time, I think that things in western society dramatically in the last few tears, racism is a good example, just a few decades ago, racism was rife, people were pulling down statues in honour of public figures who owned slaves, but social norms and attitudes have changed, some good others bad, well done, blessings Roy
Typo : in setting(s) boundaries.

Mental illness and the belief that much of it is associated with the feeling of being at fault is an interesting concept
And it sounds like you are a helper for many who feel that way.
One thing you mentioned about some questions asked give the person nowhere to answer - this is typical of the questionnaires politicians send out with only yes or no for answers, and then, of course you must donate or your answers don't get sent. Maddening to me.
"...help to become an amateur?" ah! then success.
This is a very interesting piece, well expressed.

A sorry comment of how some people act, berating other person for any reason is wrong. For some underlying reason this becomes the way they go through life, demeaning any one else is a definite character defect, shows a lack of self confidence and an admittance they have failed at sometime in their life, never reached the expectations of greatness they believed was given to them to achieve. Ultimately they are weak and want everyone to ignore this as the truth.
