Hi Monica, good, short little 2-4-2 about how someone is full of worry about family or a friend, and receives a phone call from the person to relieve your worries. Good picture too. Dove

We all know that feeling of relief when someone we love is in trouble and we find out that they are okay. Your poem addresses this feeling well; it seems to fit the required format nicely. Best of luck in the contest! Evi

Hi Monica!
It's great to meet you! As a parent, I know EXACTLY the sentiment you express in your short poem here. I remember how my mom use to tell us when we out in the '80s to make sure we were home by curfew because she wouldn't sleep very well while we were gone. This would always occasion an eyeroll from me, but as I got older and had my own kids, I could totally relate. Plane flights, sleepovers, long car trips, concerts ... these events where we worry about those horrible things that only a parent fully understands. And I KNOW you know with all the wonderful children and grandchildren you have raised. Great poem about a very universal human condition (at least for parents).

Thank you for your kind comments and for reviewing. My daughter said she and her friends were going to the mall to shop for dresses one time, and there was a shooting at the mall. Teenagers were killed. I was in a panic, and she wouldn't answer her phone, so I, of course, was thinking the worst. It turned out they didn't even go to the mall - they went on the complete other end of town and her phone wasn't getting a signal. She is in her 30's now, and she calls me if she gets into the slightest bit of trouble because she now realizes how quickly something bad can happen.

A simple phone call can bring relief when we are worried about someone taking a journey. I track my Granddaughter's journey home from school and I am always relieved when she arrives home, a poignant write Monica, love Dolly x
