Well written. I love the "Dooms day clock" - it builds a powerful tension in your poem. Especially with the repeating "tick, tick, tick" and the chilling "11:11 on the clock." The mention of time and the "glacier of a heart" give this an almost apocalyptic feel. You can't help but think of the consequences of the past! Great work!

Hi Delia
This is and interesting poem. Is there really a dooms day clock.
It does sometimes seem like we are living in the end times.
And no, I don't remember particularly the things I did in 2014, According to what I read on the internet, the doomsday clock is set to 2 1/2 minutes til midnight now, not 11:11.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Have a great day.
Joan
P S I would like you to know that I just published a book called "The Interloper and other stories in prose and poetry". If you are interested, I have supplied a link to it on Amazon.com at the bottom of my profile page.

Hi Joan, thank you for your review.
I work in finance, in my day to day life and find time can be both cruel and kind.
I do believe there is a dooms day clock , it would be bizarre if it was for example a human being, I express in the poem becomes tired of people, places, bored with the same every day, could be the counter that ends mindkind.
11:11 - 11 is the Hebrew number for the word chaos.
You too Joan
