This absolutely is a funny story and must have lots of people who appreciate you if they are still going to eat a burnt turkey. This is a great poem and the picture fits perfectly.

OK, so obviously being an Aussie we don't do thanksgiving-but if we did this would describe mine. This works both in terms of the contest conditions but the tone and fun way you've used the limited syllable count. Great work.
