Thanks for sharing your metaphor, squirrel story, the kind of writing that brought you to my attention and made me a fan since the first I read. The first story of yours that I read sincerely changed my idea of theme/themes, which are very evident in the two part story about Billy and Tubby, currently posted and paying on FanStory. I'm not so sure what Eleine and the squirrel have in common, but I like the group too. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Ric,
I was worried and about to ask Helen because I looked at your portfolio and saw you hadn't written anything for a while.
I opened FS to write to Debi about something else and saw this, which makes me very happy not because of the six stars (which are always welcome), but because they come from you.
The relationship between Eleine and the story is kind of a long, complicated one, that maybe I'll share one day, although I doubt it.
I'm glad you like them as they are my favourite band and incredibly kind to their fans.
I'm going to Sweden this weekend for a party they have organised for 50 people tops and even though my best German friend who introduced me to the group cannot come, I hope to have a good time because I met other fans in Stockholm this summer.
Thanks again for reading and for the golden star.
BTW, who's written the Billy and Tubby story? How can I find it?

In the end, as Sally learned a little about life, she also learned that it takes a village working together to have a happy place and we should respect all of them, regardless of how different they are. The big old oak withstands the storms and gives the squirrels a home to hide in and Sally needed to remember they had feeling too. what an animated story this would be.

Always just a bit brighter on the other side of the fence... :-) ;-) Was hoping to see if Sally would do a bit better with her 'gathering', but at least a little bit of maturity peaked through with the oak realization... :-) ;-) Thanx for sharing that smile this morning, Heather! ;) Yvette

I'll have a look at that comma because I don't remember if I added it when I first saw your review.

Great writing. it is certainly appropriate as a children's story and, yes, a metaphor of sorts. I could think of several situations in regard to the latter. And we often wish we could be someone or something else. By the way, I love squirrels, we have a few where I live, and they are always busy! Evi

Thanks so much for this wonderful review, Evi.
I also love squirrels. We used to have some in our garden, but for some reason they've disappeared.
I hope Dotty, Anthony and you are okay. Happy New Year.

This is an adorable children's story! I laughed at "deeply annoying." That made me think of how annoying it must be. You showed us family life and the reality of how much we depend on nature, like our friends - the trees. And you showed us the most important thing - no matter how hyperactive we are, to take time to be thankful.

I like the light hearted feel of this short story, I think if you fleshed this out you could make this into a wonderful childrens book. Add a few more pictures, but great as it is.

I love the idea of being a tall oak tree, but having no feet to run away, and missing the inhabitants, such as squirrels and nesting birds, it seems so unfair, but without these solid, rooted homes where would they go! Beautifully written Maria, blessings Roy

I enjoyed this very much as I listened to it very carefully. Your writing is very good here and the structure of your paragraphing and your punctuation are all outstanding. May you have a wonderful day and may God bless your weekend. Patricia.
