Hi Cecilia!
I hope you are integrating yourself well into the community!
Your ode to this pit bull does a great job to dispel this reputation these breeds have gotten over the years, as you explain in your author's note. Great job on your first acrostic! They are a fun form with lots of possibilities!
Just a quick note about them that might be useful to you: you CAN spread your thoughts through the letters if you choose to; each line does not necessarily have to be just one thought. I like to do this with my acrostics as often as possible.
Good luck in the contest!

Thank you my friend for yet another kind review. Yes, Kratos is a big snuggle bug and a scaredy cat.
The pool pump kicked in this morning while we were outside and it scared the snot out of him. He spun around and started barking at the pool hose.
The other day a cat got inside our fence and he saw it. The cat held his ground and Kratos just barked at it. He didn't try to attack it he was too scared. You could hear it in his bark.

Linda,
I admire you. I'm originally from Upstate New York and my husband from Rockford, MN where we lived for 8 yrs. I told him next time we move its south. Here we are in Texas. It gets cold in the winter like 45 degrees (ha, ha) and we get at least one snow event or ice storm a winter between Dec.-Feb. I'll take that over northern winters.
Love
Cecilia xoxo

Awww... I love this one, with the oversized head reference. Our JRT, Jester Hugh, has a face like a staffie, though he's not one. I can put a tick on almost all these lines to match with most well-regulated dogs, the big grins, the tails beating, the claws clattering as they try to scurry out the door...

Sallyo,
Thank you for the kind review. Pit bulls are such sweet dogs if raised right. Kratos is a big snuggle bug..He was raised with cats and today a cat was in our yard, and Kratos was barking at the cat. Never tried to hurt it. He was more scared than anything. He is a big scaredy cat. That cat was a bad ass and stood his ground. It was funny to see.

A very good description of your pit bull in this acrostic poem.
It doesn't sound like the pit bulls that I've heard about that attack people. I wish you lots of luck in the competition.

Jeni,
Thank you for the kind review. My pit bull doesn't have a mean bone in his body.
We just had a cat wander into our yard. All he did was bark at it. He was a little scared too. If he was mean that cat would have been in pieces out there. This cat just stood there and looked at Kratos like he was stupid. It was quite the funny scene.

I am more of a cat lover, but do like dogs as well. Pit Bulls have a bad reputation here in the UK. But it is as you say, the way they are treated by their owners. I think it's the owners who should be trained before they are allowed to own a dog, that would stop a lot of the aggression. They are only dangerous if they are treated wrong. Well done, I really liked your acostic poem, he certainly sounds a soft and cuddly dog. Good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xx

Sandra,
Thank you for the kind review. Here in the US pit bulls also have a bad reputation. They are on the aggressive dog breed list. It's sad, I agree owners should have to take a course or something. At the end of the day owners that raise their dogs to be aggressive aren't going to change.
Michael Vick was a professional football player here in the US. He had a dog fighting ring going on. When he was arrested they ceased his dogs. They rehabilitated these dogs and now they are service dogs.
Pitties are very forgiving and really smart. My Kratos is a big snuggle bug and a scaredy cat.

You sound like a proud dog owner...he sounds cute and lovable. A great acrostic contest entry. I'm nor a dog lover, I'm more into cats, but he makes you happy and that is what counts. :)

They really are very sweet for sure! What a fun poem! Cheerful and light. Sometimes we need that to break from the seriousness of life. Inside your very cute poem, is the need for pitbulls to be treated fairly and loved as it should be.
Great job. Thank you for your submission. Really appreciate it good luck!

Lea,
Thank you for the kind review. Pit bulls really are good pets if raised properly. Any dog can be mean if their owners don't raise them right.
