I love how this gracefully explores the balance between duty and wisdom, capturing the essence of Mary and Martha's story with a gentle touch. The repeated line about there being no absolute right or wrong, but rather why we write our song, serves as a powerful reminder that life's purpose often lies in the intentions of our hearts rather than in external judgments. I appreciate how you encourage listening without a critical ear and letting beauty guide our actions. The steady rhythm and clear message create a calming, reflective tone that invites readers to find meaning in their personal journey. It's a thoughtful and inspiring piece that speaks to the heart.

Hello Roy,
I've wondered in the past about this story. Both women loved Jesus of course, and I think Martha was doing what she thought was proper to be a good hostess, and perhaps she was distressed that Mary seemed to be leaving the work to her. However, Jesus knew what was the best decision to make, and Mary made it. Thanks for sharing.
Blessings,
Tom

This is a wonderful story in scripture. I always thought it curious that Mary didn't directly ask Mary for help.
Sadly, if I had guests in my house, I would probably be like Mary. Hummm

Well done Roy.
Blessings
Janet

Such a valuable story and dynamic between the pair. One thing is clear, that they had two different personalities. I like how Jesus, accepted her worship and use of something expensive, saying the "Poor we have always." .

Amen! As long as the Lord's beauty and grace write our life's song, we need not fear about having taken the wrong path or the chosen the wrong career. God can use it all as long as our hearts are full of love for Him!

I liked the illustration. I am a little confused Roy. You say there is no right or wrong? And yet we know if we have done the wrong thing e.g judging others. When the right thing would be to say nothing, yes? Humans make many mistakes and evil takes its toll if we don't recognise those mistakes and ask forgiveness. K xx

Thanks Kay, of course there is right or wrong, but it's clear that both Martha, and Mary are doing the right thing, but the problem was Martha thinking Mary was doing the wrong, this is grace at work so thanks for these most encouraging comments and review, blessings Roy

I think I could see Martha reacting that way if Mary was truly a slob, but we don't know that she was. Her priority at this point in time was to listen and learn from Jesus. Maybe Martha would have been a better hostess if she hadn't been such a fuss-budget. Excellent rhyme, and I liked your repeated versions of there really is no right or wrong. What's with all those stray a's in your notes? judi

This work has reached the exceptional level

Your poems are always inspirational to me, raising my faith in God. The refrain, 'Sometimes there is no right or wrong,
but simply why we write our song.' has a magical effect on the poem. thanks for sharing your work. Well done, dear Roy.
