This is a seriously scary post as you set the scene in the darkness of the night on Halloween and you pulled out all the stops to send chills down the spine here, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

Hi Dolly,
Oh my! Thank you for a stunning review ...I am so pleased you enjoyed my scary Halloween scene I painted. Halloween has always had two sides to me- the giddy fun as a child and then the evil creeping around the edges of it. Anyway it has passed and we can now look to the holidays and seeing kith and kin ❤️
Thanks, Dolly.

This is one of the best I have read so far pertaining to to the "reality" of the "UNEXPECTED" looking in on children happily frightened, fast asleep with candy-filled pockets. Well done. Thanks for sharing and best for the contest.

I liked your poem. So descriptive of Halloween and trick or treat. Of course many don't know the real meaning, it isn't about trick or treat. When the world of the dead meet the world of the living for one night. Started way back with the Druid beliefs. K xx

a nice Halloween tribute poem. I sense the spirit of the Halloween holiday in these short verses. Incidentally I think it is absurd that they sell Halloween decorations in july

As I just drove by a bunch of "Trick or Treaters" on the side walks and streets. Your poem completes the evening of Halloween for me. Your Halloween poem is one of the best, In my opinion.

I really liked your poem. It was very descriptive and listed most of the Halloween happenings. Parts of it were scary and creepy. Well written.

This is a good entry for the Halloween Poetry competition. This holiday has so many opportunities for characters and creatures to create that scary, spooky atmosphere~whether the fun chills and frights that make us shake and giggle or the more insidious dark deeds of the haunted and dead. Nicely done, so descriptive and sensory, great presentation.

Halloween, my favorite time of the year. A time for the tiny tots to teenagers to dress up and Trick-or-Treat for candy. And us older folk too, love sweets and the joy of watching kids have fun. Thanks for sharing.

Ooooo-OOOOOOO-oooooh!! This has the Halloween staples - moon, jack-o-lanterns, gypsies, pirates, skeletons - but then it folds in that super scary undertow: gnarled tree forms, ghastly shapes, foreboding air currents!
You definitely showcased both sides of Halloween. Me, I'm sticking with the happy side that includes lots and lots of CANDY!!!
Hope you do well in the contest with this spooktacular offering (like what I did there, Senyai?...)

My pleasure. Okay, full disclosure: I didn't invent it...but at this time of year, I certainly do use it often. oxo
