LOVE THIS!!! What a cute poem. As cozy as a cup of hot chocolate on a winter's day. Your writing range is really admirable. Do you search for pictures and when something clicks you write about it? Would love to know more about your process.

No, this is my actual dog and her BFF. The prompt called for making a poem of any kind from a pic. Voila!

Thanks for this nice review. Xo

This is wonderful.
I am a dog dad to 3 German Shepherds and this poem brought joy to my heart.
We do indeed, all need a Twinsie :)

(With our PM conversation I just had to come look at your own work :) You have a great talent.)

Hi Rachelle,
This is a good story about friends. It sounds like the dog's security blanket. You both did a good job on the artwork.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Congrats on the honorable mention in the reviewing contest.
Have a great weekend.
Joan

LOL!! Oh, the fun and interest our pets lend to our lives! ;) A fun offering for the contest here, Lady Red, leaving those of us who love our crazy-arse pets with a big grin for the evening! ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck to you and Lil' Swish! ;) Yvette

Ah, come on. I'm a guy, dang it. I must admit I am writing this with a little happy tear in my eye. This is what I hate about poetry, understanding different forms. I can't be constrained and be creative. You can. Is this considered free form? Whatever it is, it flows very nicely and I began to like swish. The sentiment about we all could use a Twinsie; is priceless. That's all I have. That's one!

You are a man of your word, Eean Black, and I respect and admire you for it.

I used to think that same way about poetry forms, but I changed my perspective to this: even with limitations in place, my creativity will still triumph.

Life is all about perspective and attitude! I always choose joy.

Very cute--the poem and the puppy--and a perfect entry for the contest. I might enter the contest as well (still deciding on a photo), but I'm not sure I can compete with a puppy and his best friend. (Wait! Do I have any photos of a baby with her grandma?)

Your poem has a nice bouncy rhythm, very fitting for its subject matter, and your rhymes work well. Good luck in the contest.

Yeah, good point. Sure wins: animals and grandbabies...But you've had myriad wins with neither commodity!!

You just weren't looking closely enough. I snuck them in subliminally. Between every two lines, in -2 point font, I typed in words like, "baby," "baby holding puppy," "Grandma carrying baby holding puppy," and "terminally ill grandma carrying baby holding puppy." Works every time!

What a cute poem! Put look on your dog's face with the tilted head. Makes me chuckle! And terrorizing the cats well, that made me chuckle, too! Great job on this rhymer. Love the format and the subject matter designed to put a smile in a person's face. So thank you for that a great palm, great submission!

OK Rachelle,
I couldn't not give you my last six. You made me laugh with this. I absolutely love dogs. So Swish gets a time out? Ha, ha, ha- and then she needs to be comforted by her stuffed companion? This is too funny gal. Our dog, Rigby, had a stuffed yellow toy that kind of looked like the Pillsbury dough boy. His snout fit right into the crotch, and he loved to chew it. His grandma fixed it until it just couldn't be sewn anymore. Thanks so much for sharing this.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

This is HILARIOUS!! I'm just now (10:40 pm) getting home from lessons, and this was EXACTLY what I needed to perk me up. Thank you, Tom, and for the extra sparklers, too. xoxox

Thank you. I had just come from Walgreen's with this impulse buy for my Li'l Swish, and she has loved it like crazy ever since!

Thank you for sharing this adorable contest entry with us. My Harley resembles Little Swish. Harely often ends up in doggy time out for his antics. The problem is that he's so cute while he's getting into trouble. Maybe he needs a Twinsie. I enjoyed reading and wish you luck with the contest.

Maybe he does! I just happened upon Twinsie a month or so ago when I was in Walgreen's! It was a fluke, but the minute I saw her, I knew she had to come home with me.

What kind of dog is Harley? Li'l Swish is a Mini Bernadoodle, so half Bernese Mountain Dog, half-poodle. [What I find so ironic is that, back when I was growing up, anything mixed with a poodle was a "mongrel." Now it's a "breed" and costs many thousands of dollars!)

Thanks for the sweet review, Barbara. xoxox

Harley is a dachshund mix, probably with a Jack Russel. Either breed spells trouble in an adorable way.
