Hi, Yvonne.
I miss our PA fireflies. They used to shine brightly in our woods, but the Gypsy moth debacle a few years ago had them eradicated.
Your beautiful poem reminds me of these beautiful free spirits.
Great poem, Yvonne.
Best wishes,
Cindy

Oh, I remember reading about that a few years back, Cindy... so sad. But I'm so glad this one could touch one of those memories for you... thank you for stopping in, my lady! ;) Yvette

Hey Yvette.
This picture is awesome. Your 5-7-5 is well written and the descriptors draw good verbal visions. I tried to write one once and I shredded the page when it was finished.

I find that the 5-7-5 is good for when life is busy... then it makes for a good practice of the imagery in but a few words (yeah, sorry, the teacher in me can't resist the 'practice' thing -- lol!!) ;) Thanx so much for stopping in on this one, Z -- it's taking some time to 'get back into the swing' after my 'absence', but I'm getting there! ;) Yvette

Congrats on your podium placement Yvette!
Your last line was a perfect ending to your poem - really exquisite phrasing. 'Moonlight ripples' gets second place.
I also like your artwork and coloring scheme for this entry.

Hi
This is a good metaphoric poem about the beauty of the fireflies.
Is is amazing how many there are and how bright there lights are.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of the day and week.

Oh I just love fireflies and your last line "firefly cotillion" brings forth a beautiful image. Excellent 5-7-5 form that takes the reader to another place, one of nature and a feel of fantasy. Best wishes for the contest.

Every now and then, a 5-7-5 gets my attention because it's unique and beautiful. A winner here in my eyes, mystery poet. I'll be watching for this in the voting booth. Sending you my best today as always, and my good wishes for the contest.

Hi,
What a lovely poem. It's short, but has a powerful message. The picture sets the scene for the poem. It's almost like you are there. What is a 5-7-5 poem and how hard are they. Keep the poems coming. Look forward to reading more.

I enjoyed your dancing flair in this unique post and I have to admit I had to look up the word cotillion as I have never heard of it before, but it all makes sense now, those moving reflections of fireflies are like dancing light bulbs, love Dolly x x x
