I missed this one, Beth! Thank goodness I went looking. What!!?? Double the 'normal' amount in his cheque! That does sound like he has a mistress somewhere who he is obviously looking after VERY well! Trenton has some explaining to do, and I'm wondering what lingerie size does Sheri wear??? Hmmm, I think someone else needs to explain! Well done, my friend. I must keep an eye out for your story! Sandra xx

I am wondering what is going on with Tracie, this can't at all be good. So, the jerk has also been hiding family money. You're doing a great job with this. I wish I had a six left. I thought I did. I must have accidently given it away.

Thank you, Barbara for the review. You enjoy your comments. I pleased you would have given six stars if you'd one left.

Oh, the web of deceit is always more tangled that it appears, isn't it? And now more with the children... sigh. :-/ A great next chapter here, Beth... I'm really looking forward to the next one! ;)

Lots of realizations coming to light for Marsha. The money is not a huge surprise but I sure am wondering what he has been doing with all that money he's been holding old. Good chapter. Enjoyed.

This read fine, you set up a lot of tension and concern for this family, alcoholism is not a joke and affects millions unfortunately, no errors noted.

My wife and I had a good system. I'd give her the check. I kept $75. Of course, if either of us needed more, there was no problem. We were on the some page.Your story progresses well nd you left us t the best possible moment to leave us wanting for more.

Thank you, Jim. My husband and I tried it that way for a while. Since we both worked, we agreed to keep separate bank accounts with both names on both of them. He would pay bills with his and I would buy groceries and household needs and clothes for everyone with mine. Thank you for the six stars.

You deserved them! For a while my wife did the bills, but I took over until the end.

Oh-oh. Bridge over troubled waters it seems and we in Western NC would know, with the arrival and departure of Ms Helene. What a storm. Anyhow, a chapter settng things up for the future, and a remembrance of how things worked with men in the 50's

Thank you, Tom. Well men in the 50 got away with a lot more than they do today. After the 'Me Too' movement a few of them had to pay the piper. I hope the storm didn't do anything horrible to your little paradise. It was supposed to go right over Chattanooga but it with further east and missed. We didn't even get a good rain.

Sorry for the trauma Helen's caused but glad it stayed away from you

I can really feel how the realisation of this new reality is hitting Martha as she comes to terms with Trenton not being by her side. You did a great job of bringing her emotions through in your writing. Another well written chapter, Beth. I enjoyed reading it.

Marsha has received an amount of money twice the normal amount of what she's used to, but she hears it's the normal amount, what's going on here? Then she hears about her youngest daughter having trouble, Marsha's called to school, mmmmh beautifully written, this is such a good story, bless you, Roy
Typo : Are you sure you didn't make (an) error?

Marsha certainly has her hands full, and now problems at school, which will also keep Marsha up at night. (FYI, you have Tracy spelled Tracie in the list of characters at the end of this.)

A well-told chapter and certainly believable. I'm anxious to see where the money has gone.

So, she is getting MORE money in Trenton's check now that he isn't taking a large cut?

See you next time, Beth.

Thank you, Pam. I appreciate you pointing on the discrepancy in the spelling of name. Now I need to back into other chapters and see if I might have made the same mistake.
