Glad I'm not the only one! That happens to me when I look at my portfolio and can't remember what MOST of them were about! I think in your case, you have so much going on in your brain, so many stories being written or about to be written that one which has just finished being written could quite easily slip into obscurity. A fun write.

I have forgotten why I entered a room or what I came to get, but forgetting a novel that I spent two months writing was beyond my comprehension. Knowing that this happens does help, but it doesn't erase my worst fear of not being able to write because I can't remember.

I am going to suggest as writers we have so many stories going on in our heads that, like memories from out real life, we need to do a different kind of trying to remember that separates the imaginary story from our real lives. Now, doesn't that make you feel better? Our imaginations are probably on overload most of the time.

I've heard from many that my mind was on overload and that's a strong possibility with everything that keeps happening. I appreciate your comments and support. Maybe I need a new filing system in the brain. LOL

I can identify with this scenario Carol as our brains sometimes need a reboot just like our computers! I enjoyed your tale of forgetfulness here, love Dolly x

I think I need a new filing system in my brain...one for reality and the other for writing. Not that it would help much...I think age is claiming me. Thanks so much, Dolly.

Hey, you can't get into panic mode when that happens. It only makes the freeze up worse. But if it will make you feel better, it happens to many of us. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks as always. I've had some "garbage" going on lately and I think between it and trying to write, my wires got crossed and short-circuited. Thankfully, I'm okay. My worst fear is losing my thoughts and ability to write.

Brain hiccup. You just need a reboot. I know it's scary when our brains don't cooperate or function as quickly as they used to.
A good story, told briefly, effectively communicating the emotions that came along with the slipped moment.

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks, Julie. I must admit, I was terrified. How do you spend two months writing a book and then can't remember anything but the name... nothing? The brain took a hiatus. But all is well for now.

Yes, I get that too. It is a short term memory glitch. I used to remember most things okay. Then the older stuff was harder to remember. I had to work at it, instead of it being automatic. And like many my age, I can walk into a room, and forget why I came there. I stand still and it comes back. I think with some of us smarty smart and creative types, we have a ton of zip files for things we don't think about much, and we simply need to unzip them. Works for me! Good writing. Karen

I'd done that before too, but losing an entire novel that you'd been writing for two months was terrifying. I guess it was the brain telling me to slow down a little. Thanks for the review. Take care!

Hi Carol, I could see where that could be a scary thing. I am so glad you remembered. I know I forget things too and it can be so frustrating. Nice flash fiction.

Ack! That would be terrifying much more than forgetting someone's name. But the good thing is you have all these friends here who read the book and the book is here, too! So glad your son called!

Don't worry I've been going through my journals of songs and poems I wrote up to thirty odd years ago, and was astounded that quite a few I can't remember writing for the life of me, I meant to give you my last six for the last episode in your story, so I'll give it for this one, well done, blessings Roy

You still have a chance with that six, my friend. The last episode was posted today but only if you think it deserves it. I am always flattered and appreciative of your thoughts on what I write.

I think those moments happen to all of us, Carol. I think of something I really want to say and then just as I'm about to say it it's gone. It is so annoying when it happens, but then it usually comes back to me a day or so later which is another annoying thing.

I've had small things I couldn't remember, but a whole book was terrifying. Thank heavens it all came back. Appreciate the review and your thoughts.
