I like the first stanza. You have these great images of life here, the green leaves and branches reaching out to wipe away the thoughts of despair and death. There is a great sense of rejuvenation there. The second stanza is a bit more realistic, it weighs down with its thoughts on the cares and anxieties of life. I would have flipped them to give it more of an upbeat trend. estory

Very nicely said, Ulla. I think Rhonda has reviewed some of my work, but I didn't know her husband was ill. I hope it isn't serious. I'm sure they will appreciate your words. I don't know what a Sapphonic Triad is, but your poem sounded fine to me. Have a great week. Frank

Thank you so much, Frank. Oh, Rhonda's husband had a major stroke. He's slowly on the mend. Rhonda is staying with him at the hospital. Ulla:)))

Thanks, Ulla. I sent her a PM and told her that I'd keep them in my thoughts.

Hello, Ulla,

This is my third chapter in "Prayers for Wayne, Rhonda's Husband" book, that I read today. It's a great idea. I plan to read one tomorrow. I bet Rhonda will appreciate it.

I like the Sapphonic Triad poetic form. Yours is beatiful. It reminds me of a children's book, "the giving tree"

That is a lovely picture of a home unlike what we generally find in an American home. Its attractiveness reminds us of the beauty of friendship. I do wonder if you want an "s" on embrace each time it occurs in your poem.

I know, the picture very much reflects how a home would look like where I live. Thanks again, Carol. Ulla, xcx

You and Pam have back-to-back Sapphonic Triads in this book (which I didn't realize existed although I read "multi-author book" when I read Debi's first entry. (Sad where my mind goes...)

Your words ring so true! We can take nothing for granted. How fortunate Wayne's sons put an app on his phone that likely saved his life!

First try or twentieth, it seems, to me, you've mastered this form, Ulla.

Prayers continue, and how great this must be for Rhonda to read these messages of support!

Karenina

I don't know Rhonda and Wayne but I'm moved by compassion from so many Fastorians here. I like your using trees as metaphor here to express your sympathy toward them.

One suggestion:
Could replace one of two "embrace" with "embody".

Well done.

These are beautiful thoughts for Wayne and Rhonda. I know they will like this. It is true that life has its ups and downs, and nothing is guaranteed.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but foliage and life sounds singular, and if feels like the word embrace should embraces.

This is a lovely tribute and gives lots of energy. And it's a good opportunity to invite others to send healing and prayer to the intentions this couple. This is well expressed.

We walk our separate paths each day, not knowing what life will bring, but when tragedy strikes, we find ourselves bonded together, arms encircling each other and holding us safe. I could feel all the love in your words. My thoughts and love go to Rhonda and Wayne, and I hope for a speedy recovery.
Smiles and hugs, Carol
