Thank you, Debbie. Actually, I'd never slapped anyone before in my life and I didn't even realize what I was doing. It was gut reaction, and I was sorry I chased him away.

Thank Ric. I think I was kind of wishing he would, but he didn't want to risk another handprint. You were probably the kind of guy I would have been attracted to. I always got crushes on those rash bad-boy types.

I can imagine a family reunion would be awkward if you didn't know any of your cousins. On my father's side of the family I have so many second and third cousins who I've never met; I wouldn't know what to talk to them about if we met up. A well written piece, Beth. I enjoyed reading it.

Ah...Que, Sera Sera - Whatever will be will be...The future's not ours to see. If you had accepted the kiss, your future might have been entirely different, and your life wouldn't have been the same. So maybe it was better to hold them and fold them. LOL. Another excellent chapter in your life, Beth.

True, I might have started dating earlier, but I didn't think I ever wanted to get married. He was the cute popular football idol type, who probably wouldn't have been right for me. They have girls flirting with them. I wouldn't have someone who would me jealous.

this is such a cool story. I love hearing about people's childhoods and their experiences. I loved the part about slapping the football player. I think it was a classy move. He should have asked. Just my opinion. Your last line was so perfect. I enjoyed this. Gretchen

You girls were a mess. Reminded me of things my wife said about her days with her kin. They took a car but flipped it on a dirt road, luckly nobody was hurt. The kiss, instant reaction. I had a son who did most of the art work for his school as well and later became a graphic artist. Good one, Beth.

Another interesting story. I was a bit surprised about the education system where young marrieds are together with fifteen-year-olds, but I guess they could have been around eighteen or so. The boy took a liberty with you, and although cute, he sounds as if he wasn't good boyfriend material.
