He does know each one of His children and what we need as a 'nudge' here and there... :) A wonderful offering of testimony for the contest here, Beth -- thanx so much for sharing and best of luck! ;) Yvette

"Faith of a mustard see," is a hard thing to have until you finally give in, and then you understand what it means to have faith, believing in what you can't see or touch, but knowing it's real. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Rick. Faith is something we all need. It takes away a lot or anxiety.

BethShelby, what a beautiful poem and a powerful testimony. It reminded me of my journey to God. My mom planted a seed in me as well while I was a child, but I was an extremely curious child and had to see things for myself about everything I was told, especially about something as big as God. I didn't find any proof of His existence during my search, so I took a stand and lived as an atheist until I was 31, which is when God sent me proof that He was real. I enjoyed thinking about my journey as I read about yours. Well done, thy good and faithful servant, well done.
Take care,
Daniel

What a beautiful poem for the "My Faith Poetry Contest." It is an outstanding entry. (Sorry I was out of sixes.) God's comfort and peace are essential to our lives here, and what joy we have in anticipating heaven with him! Good luck in the contest.

What a wonderful testament to faith, and a beautiful poem. I especially loved these closing lines, as I believe they apply to most of us --

"I need to know when my time comes

for me to leave this Earthly sphere,

He'll hold me tightly in his arms

and whisper there is naught to fear."

This is a wonderful entry for the My Faith Poetry competition. I love the picture you've used to illustrate~it certainly conveys the meaning of faith. We walk life's tightrope, trying to maintain balance and stay on the right path, and only a strong faith can keep us there. Your poem has a great rhythm and rhyme and wonderful message. Well done!

Faith lives strong within your heart, Beth. You have faced many trials and always remained steadfast in the Lord. Surviving the tornado might have been the key to recognizing your faith, but it was always there from the beginning.

I truly believe faith is His greatest gift, and it seems you have that in true abundance. May your life continue along this path. May you also continue to write such good and inspiring poetry.

Thank you much, Bob. It has gotten me through some rough spots. I hold on to the faith in spite of the fact, I often feel I've let God down. I amazed that He is still there for me.

I've read several poems for this contest that are about faith, but this one is about YOUR faith, and I think that personal touch is what the committee is looking for in this contest.

I think it's a lovely rhyming testament that follows your faith from the seed your mother planted to present. Well said, and I'm so happy that you have your beliefs to get you through the rough times. Faith does not change things, but it helps us to cope with the tough times. It's a comfort.

Thanks, Beth, and good luck.

This is an excellent piece on your faith, Beth and how much it means to you. You describe how faith can grow inside us over the years and become something much more meaningful really well. A well written piece. Good luck in the contest.
