Hi Ginda,
This is a good use of words and the color purple, which is my favorite color. It is a whimsical piece which could be remembrance about your youth or your daughter's youth. Lilacs are my favorite flowers. Sadly all our lilac bushes died.

P S If I haven't told you yet, I have just published a book titled "The Interloper and other stories in prose and poetry". There is a link to it on Amazon.com at the bottom of my profile bio.

Beautiful poem that evokes the senses of sight, smell and touch. Lilacs are very sweet and delicate. And the image of a little child teaching for the tender blossom is heartwarming.

Lovely poem and an adorable picture. I like the title you chose. We had a lilac bush in our backyard, and I can smell the scent as I read your poem. Best wishes in the contest. Carol

This is a beautiful poem. It is funny how a scent can take us back in time. This happens for me when I smell freshly cut grass and inflatables. Thanks for sharing and best of luck in the contest.

It always surprises me how the scent of blossoms can bring back memories of long ago. Your poem very simply conveys that theme. I like your subtle use of rhyme and alliteration. Rod
