This is a beautiful story of friendship, love and sacrifice and you have told it well in your wonderful poem and detailed author notes. This poem has a great presentation, rhythm, and rhyme with a good flow, easy to read and imagine. Well done!

It is hard to overlook Jonathon as one of David's closest friends and advisors. This may be one of the strongest friendships in the Bible. Jonathon could speak to David like no other.

The Biblical story of David and Jonathan is a compelling tale of true love and friendship where enmity should have been. Thanks for spreading the Good news, dear Roy. Remain blessed.

Hi Roy,
This is a good poetic retelling of the story of David and Jonathan.
I never heard anyone call King David, Dave. But Jonathon probably did.
There are so many things in the Old Testament that foreshadow of prophesy the New Testament.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Enjoy the rest of the week.

Roy,
I like your whole presentation. I knew Jesus was David's progeny, but I didn't understand, until now, the role of Jonathan.
Exceptional poem and history lesson.
Blessings,
Cindy

An interesting and different poem, which reminded all that Jonathan was meant to be king in the normal situation, and knew that for God's will to be accomplished he too would die. Yet he remained loyal to David, shhowing he too was a man of faith.

This poem masterfully intertwines the biblical narrative of David and Jonathan with Christian theology, presenting a poignant allegory of sacrifice and divine love. It reflects on themes of faith, friendship, and redemption, drawing a parallel between Old Testament events and the New Testament's message of salvation through Christ, making it a spiritually enriching read.

Very nice poem. It flows nicely to completion. It's a beautiful way to tell the story of the bible. I didn't find any errors. Very beautiful poem. Does writing poetry come naturally or do you struggle? Just curious.

This was a sad tale. I get that David was supposed to be king, but did he really need to kill his friend who had protected him and forsaken his own father? I have a hard time with this one. But your poem was very good. I enjoyed it. Gretchen

The story of David and Jonathan is one of my favorites. If it were to take place in today's world, imagine what they would be called. I wonder how many today would be persuaded to die that another may supersede him. This story teaches us about love. Imagine knowing your father and you needed to be sacrificed. How many would be capable to do it?
