The diary gives a possible reason for Danielle's parents. He parents might have really wanted her to have the opportunity to around children her own age in a school situation, but Oliver was keeping them there. I'm glad she still has Max on the outside to possibly check on Oliver. I see you've posted another on so I'm off to read it.

Danielle is emailing Max after reading what her mother wrote in a diary, but Oliver might be monitoring it. Here is where the reader is taken aback: I'm still reading the message I sent to him when there's a knock on my door which makes me jump. I shut my phone down.
'Danielle, are you in there?'
I see you are keeping the reader guessing, since you didn't say whether it was a man's voice, a woman's voice, or perhaps muffled through the door.

It's odd how hard it is to find Callum in such a small community. And it is downright scary that someone is at her door only seconds after she sends an email to her friend.

You manage to drip-feed a little more information here which is illuminating about Oliver's influence over the mother. I'm not surprised Danielle is wanting an outside opinion to try and gain some perspective. Thank you for sharing your intriguing story, Jacob. Take care Debbie

Oh wow, Jacob, you made me jump, too. I was so engaged in what was going on with the email, afraid this meant she was being monitored.
And Callum, is he going to turn??
The diary. We finally get another glance into it. Creepy, creepy.
Thanks for the story,
Rhonda

Is it Oliver or Callum? Danielle is playing with fire talking to Max when Oliver could find out and terrible things could happen. According to the diary it appears as if he had plans for Danielle before she was even born. Creepy!

It's amazing to me how our protagonist first person storyteller doesn't know if she is home schooled or not, but I haven't been a consistent reader, nor have I been following the plot, perhaps it's not wise to randomly read. Well done, blessings Roy

Thank you Roy, she was very young when she was adopted so has very few memories of her early childhood. I'm pleased that you enjoyed it.

Who is at Danielle's door? I'm wondering if Oliver or Jeremey have the capability of censoring her emails. I wouldn't put it past them. I am enjoying this story. You're doing a great job writing it.
