Throw in a mandolin and a few beers, and you've got the makings of the next country hit, essentially. Assuming this is free verse, you definitely try to lay out the emotional weight of the moment, and it mostly hits. Good job!

This poem is beautiful! You really captured that feeling of hope slipping away. I love how the rain mirrors the internal struggle. That ending hits so hard. The raw honesty of your poem makes it so moving. Wonderful work!
