Riley should be scared! And he needs to take a vacation. I think it is possible that he just might be the next victim. They need to do it in a way that Carey will know it most definitely wasn't Jodie Mae. This is such an exciting story, Steve. Well done again. :) Sandra

Thank you, Sandra. Riley needs to take a vacation indeed. He may be forced to take one soon, lol.

Wow, there was a fair bit of tension here as Dodie Rae's rage started to build and her grandmother (Thank Goodness for her quick wittedness!) had to hold her back. Meanwhile, Riley is pulling it all together, seeing connections to Dodie Rae. Will he be next on her list? Your dialogue is excellent here and carries the story well, while the shift in scene is seamlessly achieved. Well done, Steve, on another excellent chapter. Take care Debbie

Thank you for this incredible review, Debbie. The tension becomes thicker in the next chapter, lol. It's done, I may put it up in the morning. Thank you as well for your kind words. I enjoy dialogue, not sure why I've chosen to write this way, or even if I chose to, lol.
God bless,
Steve

I love how you make up your list as you go. I'm sorry, Dodie Rae does. It's like foreshadowing who is about to get what's coming to them. LOL. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Ric. Lol! Yeah, Dodie Rae is definitely in control of the story. It's like watching a movie in my head while I'm writing. Pretty cool.
God bless,
Steve

You're doing a great job with this story, Steve. Each chapter is riveting. I enjoyed seeing how even Mama feels the thrill of the changing, but still has the good sense to know when to rein it in, while Dodie Rae continues living on the edge. She seems fearless, perhaps because she feels her inner wolf will take care of any danger or trouble she finds herself in, and she seems like she's itching for a confrontation with Riley who may now be entertaining thoughts about her true nature. Good stuff.

Thank you, Jim. I am having great fun with this story. Dodie Rae is pushing the limits with Riley and Carey and may find herself in a jam. I'm sure if she does, she'll get herself out of it somehow, lol.
God bless,
Steve

Welcome back. This is a curious subject introduced. "Where's the blood, Cher? " she asked, holding her hands outward for her granddaughter to see. "I should be covered in blood." you've opened up another very good topic: ""You don't think I know that, Mama? That doesn't change the fact that he abuses his wife, now does it?" this situation remarkable: ""Alright. But don't you find it strange that all of these men who have died at the hands of this animal are married to women attending the same meetings for abuse?"
"Yes," Carey said. "Yes, I do."
A strange ending

I may have already told you I worked for 30 plus years, with victims of violence and sexual assault.

Yes. What a blessing you must have been for these people. I have the highest respect for folks such as yourself. I'm sure you made a huge difference in each of their lives.

I loved how you teased us at the end with that last line, it feels like Dodie Rae is getting closer to achieving her goal, but I am fearful that things might not go well for her. I can't wait to see what comes next. Another excellent piece.

Oh, wow - LOVE the cool artwork that provides the harbinger of horror that awaits your readers!! Great choice!
And how this storyline is progressing! The tension and pace are both ramping up exponentially like a runaway catastrophe that no one is going to be able to corral.
You've given wonderful foreshadowing of who's in the crosshairs; that's for sure. Policeman or not, NO ONE is safe from an avenging she-wolf!!
Really well done chapter, Steve. My interest is piqued. xoxox

Thank you, Rachelle, for this incredible review, my friend. All I want to do is write! I can't believe I've spit out three chapters this week and half-way through the next one. I'm off Friday and Saturday and plan on locking the door and releasing the beast that is Dodie Rae. Right now she is giving Riley hell! This may not bode well for her, but there is a nice little twist coming.'
God bless,
Steve

And once again, I am intrigued as hell!! xoxoox

Dodie Rae is a bad ass but she is going to get in trouble with the police if she doesn't calm down.

Thank you, Gypsy, for this excellent review. You are correct, I feel Dodie Rae will end up in jail if she can't keep her hatred for Carey under control. Thank you for your support in following her story.
God bless,
Steve

Officer Riley is on the right track, but how does he prove it. Now, that's a good question. LOL I am enjoying reading this. Thank you for sharing it with us.
We can worry about Officer Carey later." (Did you mean Officer Riley here? He's the one she suspects of spouse abuse, right?)

Not a problem. I'm working on three different novels. The one I'm posting, I'm only editing it. It complete. One I'm writing. I'll post it when I finish the present one and one, I'm taking notes on, to soon start writing, but... Once in a while, I'll slip in the wrong name.

I can't imagine having that many projects at once. But I bet it is fun.

I'm happiest when I'm writing.

Same! But I'm always at work. Leaving now. Be back on around 1 a.m. lol.

I retired a few years ago.

Loving the fact that Grandma Bay Lynn has joined with Dodie Rae and made it a family affair. The artwork is perfect. I found one tiny typo.
(an ambulance had taken Hellen to the hospital,) Are there any other family members they can bring into the pack? Looks they might need help with all the abusive men around there! Keep it coming. Great job, Steve.

Thank you, Marilyn, for all the extra stars and for catching the typo. It took me several minutes to notice the extra L in her name, lol. I love the artwork. Karen found this for me. I can't believe I've posted three chapters this week. Where did I find time to write them? LOL!
God bless,
Steve
