I don't quite follow on your religious take on your entry, but the idea is certainly true of human behavior...don't upset the Apple cart, because the Apple cart is sacrosanct and comfortable. I do see irony in an FS contest requesting originality when there is a whole lot of site-sponsored same old same old going on.
A thought-provoking post!

Thanks Julie! There are multiple messages at work, and maybe I tried to do too much at once here. I.e. to be creative is to be destructive, rebellious and offensive to some paradigm. Here Jesus is destroying the Freedom Tower, an act most Americans would consider blasphemy. Americans love to talk about freedom, but if you want to stump us, ask us what freedom is for. The tree of life/bread of life concept of rebellion touched on as well might have best been saved for another entry. I was trying to link in the idea of creativity as eating of the forbidden fruit.

Ahh...that is a lot to encapsulate in 6 words!

That picture is stunning and beautiful! I'm a little confused as to what you are saying. Do you mean that we should not try to interpret the scriptures with our limited knowledge? I do believe that, "It is written" by the Lord, and He is the almighty. But one can also think that you might be saying that anything we say that is creative and original is blasphemy. And I want to think creatively and be original. However, I think your deeper message might be that we should not try to rewrite the scriptures to go along with our individual thinking. Keep writing, and showing us beautiful pictures like this one, OK?

Great questions are often best left unanswered. Is Yahweh the ultimate villain? Or a God that evolves along with creation? Yahweh bars access to the tree of life, so that mankind could not eat of it and escape mortality. Early Christians were persecuted as cannibals for their belief in the sacrament of communion: "I am the bread of life. Whoever eats of this bread will live forever."
Perhaps it's more the idea that anything truly original upends the previous order, and in its destruction, sows the seeds for the new one. In any science, art and theology, to reach the next level of progress, the greatest innovators fully master elements of what was laid before them and then they break the previous laws when they reach the frontier, allowing access to another dimension. Thus, to fulfill and to subvert the old covenant is synonymous.
There are 5-6 extinction events in world history and these roughly coincide with "there was evening, and then morning" of the next day. Each "day" of creation is followed by a period of destruction, then leading to more complex life. Perhaps the seventh/sabbath day of God "resting" is a foreshadowing of the death and resurrection of God through Christ.
