I think this was a great tanka for the writing prompt. It looks like you got the syllable count right, and you included the required word. This was a most creative take on the prompt as your vampires were not literal. Thank you for sharing, and best wishes to you.

This is a thought-provoking piece. It was clever how you could weave the topics of children and vampires into one poem. The line that impacted me the most was 'Gorge on childhood innocence.' It reminds me of how children cannot always defend themselves.
