Hi Patrick
This is a sad ekphrastic poem about child abuse and what it does to the soul. This person never truly can know or feel what quiescence means. She will never have peace.
Congrats on being the reviewer of the month.
Keep writing and stay healthy.
Enjoy the rest of your week.
Joan

It's hard to imagine such evil monsters who prey on young children, stripping their innocence, and infusing them with a copycat rage that will someday surface as the beast they've become. A vicious cycle.
Thanks for sharing.

Powerful poetic offering, Patrick, both in form and message.
Regarding the form: What stands out to this reviewer is how flawlessly your lines flow from one to another = so seamless that the reader is not hampered by the Acrostic form as often plagues said form.
Regarding message: Abuse at any level should surely "enrage the soul of the universe." Sadly it continues. The "should" MUST be changed to "must," not only for the sake of those abused but for our entire civilization.

Thank you for sharing,
diane

Hello Diane! It's great to meet you! Thank you so much for your kind words about my poem. They means a lot to me, especially coming from someone who has spent her life reading, analyzing, and teaching the best poetry the world has ever seen! I have you down on my list for a port visit soon! 😊 And thank you also for one of your limited 6-star ratings!

This is excellent Patrick and I completely understand how this was a difficult one to write, as it was also a harsh read. Which or course means you've have captured the reader extremely well in this acrostic poem.
Well done,
Best wishes
Nicki

What a well written poem! I read this as a delicate balance between calmness and chaos. Yoru description of fear as ocean tides is so powerful. Great job - this is a unique and well written poem.
