"Happy" Saturday Debi!
Thank you for posting to this week's poetry prompt!
Clowns! I find it fascinating that these once-lovable "courte jesters" of the circus have now become typical Halloween fodder. I think I saw somewhere that clowns are in the Top-10 things that creep people out the most. That's just strange to me.
Was this a play on Stephen King's "It"? Amazingly enough, I have never read that book nor seen the movie. In the end, Happy is what Happy does. *laughs*

No, Patrick. Never heard of It until I needed a rhyme to go with my pit. Then I have been asked that over and over.
A couple years ago nobody ever did acrostics like a real poem and I started doing them because when you are a rhymaholic, that is what you do and now they seem to be catching on. I see a few others did the same style.
But no, Happy was supposed to stay happy. I never have done anything dark before and don't watch horror movies. I don't know what came over me.
LOL. It just happened that as I kept writing I liked the dark ending better than a "Happy" one.
Love, Debi

A great haunted house Acrostic about Happy the clown and his revenge on those that would destry his happy face. A good one leading up to Halloween. Nicely done Debi.
Cheers

IT!
That is why I don't like clowns--they creep me out! LOL. This is a great piece you have entered for the Haunted House acrostic. I am in the club, and I'm failing miserably to keep up with the prompts. All work and no play, they say.
God bless,
Steve

This isn't like your usual sunny self. I've seen some of the "Little Worshop of Horrors Club" and I don't think I'm ready to join yet. You can't blame Happy for wanting to get revenge for losing his happy face; still, the pit seems a pretty bad form of revenge. Excellent rhyme. It flows along almost cheerfully for a haunted house horror poem. judi

Haha, Judi, this is so far out of my comfort zone that I do not watch horror movies, would not allow my kids to watch them, I never made horror type costumes for them, and we just didn't do the blood and guts thing here.
SO WHAT HAPPENED TO ME??
I don't know? I was writing away and Happy was supposed to stay happy and all of a sudden a dark side came over me, and lo and behold, it was kinda fun... so I went with it... LOL.
Thanks for having some fun with me here. I don't think I am ready to write spooky, but this felt a little more Halloween-ish. LOL
Love, Deb

You're welcome. You were writing for the club, so you did what was required for that challenge. I think it's good when we try to stretch ourselves as writers. We're being reminded of Halloween. I got an Amazon catalog today that was filled with kids' things for Halloween. I hope parents have a chance to hide the catalog before the children see it, or they'll want to order everything. judi

I am going to post a poem that I wanted for my milestone, but it didn't add up according to what the numbers said. It tells a lot about how my mom made Halloween so much for us. That reminds me of the amazon catalog. Fun is always good if no one gets hurt.

That should make for a fun post. I remember we didn't have money to be Halloween costumes. We made do with whatever we could find. judi

Oh, Judi, that is how I was raised too. But when we first started out and the kids were little, we were trying to pay more on our principal of our house so there was little money for other things. I took my old curtains from my room at my parents place and my prom dress and made costumes for my kids. And to this day they look back and say those were the best costumes ever because they were made with so much love. I wish I could send you pictures of some of them.
-
When you don't have much money, you have to be creative. It was probably fun to make those costumes, too. judi

Some of the best memories of our early life together. And to have the kids come back to say that, it just makes it so much better. You sound like you are a lot like that too. Good old honest hard work in anything we do always gives the biggest reward.

Debi, I found another one of your poems! I really enjoyed how you made what could have been a scary poem into a happy one. And I agree with you, "Revenge is so sweet!"

Of course a clown is named Happy. Great job with this and your artwork choice works very well.
I enjoyed the allusion to Stephen King's Pennywise the dancing clown in IT. He truly was ominous.
Much enjoyed. :)

I got a laugh out of your well crafted acrostic and the subtle hint to Stephen King's novel "IT". The graphics were well chosen to enhance your work. A very good entry to the contest.

Hello Debi. Great job of composing an acrostic poem about Haloween. You made it make sense. you didn't lose track of the narrative and did well with the rhymes. Some writers lose track of the rhyme scheme while trying to keep the style form. Great Job!

You are so kind, Robert. This is a first for me. I have never written anything dark in my life and this was supposed to keep Happy happy, but something changed and I went with the flow and it felt good to be a little dark for a change. However, I am a Christian author so you may never see this again, but it was kind of fun for a change. LOL.
Thanks for the kind comments, my friend. Love, Debi

Some people just don't enjoy a happy clown. Unfortunately, they picked on the wrong clown to make unhappy. Even clowns can have a haunted house and can also be happy getting even. They earned their fate.

Aha, I have found my match. Thank you as this was my first dark moment I have ever had writing and I had a few tease me about how dark I made it. At first it was an endless pit and then I changed it to an empty pit so they didn't have to necessarily die. Hahaha . But it was kinda fun being naughty for a little bit. My kids call me Pollyanna so I wanted to see what it felt like to be evil. Haha. Actually Happy was suppose to stay happy and I changed midstream so thanks for the encouraging words, my dear friend.
Lotsa love and hugs. Debi
