Ciao!

Young people tend to think that death is only associated to elderly people..

the truth is every day our lives could end.

Life is very fragile.

My mother died suddenly and that was my wake up call. ( I was 42)

Up to then I had never thought of death.

The best thing we can do is not waste time.

Dedicate our free time to learning something that will enrich us.

I like to do sudoku and play chess on line.

I also like to do origami , my goal would be to make many animals for a personal Noah's ark.

Another important lesson I learned after my momma's passing :

try to resolve arguments, never drag them on for days.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. You've hit on 3 of the same ideals that I have focused on since my too close of a brush with death.
    1. Don't waste time
    2. Do something that will enrich you or others.
    3. Life's too short to hold a grudge. Resolve or absolve and move on.

    Ciao!

Wow! What a sad poem. It makes you realize how important it is to do what you love before it's too late. I really like how you evoked so many emotions from so few words.

That's the thing people often forgot - we do not know when our time is up, so what we say and do, especially towards others is important. Well written and succinct reminder. Best wishes for the contest.

The second of your poems that I had the pleasure of reading this evening. As I read this I got another strong feeling of loss. We all make plans but sometimes we never get around to the plans and dreams. So sad... well done poet.

As they say, "never put off to tomorrow, what you can do today."
Your picture tells the story about a person who got a second chance.
You have the right amount of syllables for a Naani poem
and good luck with it.

a very moving and powerful poem that many of us in the senior set can relate to. Time is indeed running out and we have to adjust to that. Be grateful for what you have and learn to let go.

The style is well written as I understand and read your poem. The content is an excellent observation of life. Your words effect the reader. I wish you well in the contest.

Well, goodness, I'm glad you or whomever, awakened and those thoughts were never manifested. They were pretty fatalistic. So, whew! saved by the docs.
If this is fiction, it is very poignant - and if non-fiction, even more so.
very good.

This is very thought provoking. No one likes to think about death, and yet we can't really avoid it either. It's those who have close calls that know the value of life. Best of luck in the contest.

Your Naani poem expresses frightening thoughts. I suppose people think these types of things when they have a terminal illness, or know they have a short time to live. I hope you're not aware of these thoughts based on a personal experience. If so, I'm glad you are here writing about it. Best wishes in the contest.
