A fun free verse for the contest here -- love the rambling rabbit holes explored that could result if anyone ever really thought about so many of those 'old sayings' -- thank you so much for sharing (banana anyone?) and best of luck in the contest!

Love this. It was totally unexpected and a very clever take on the idea of proverbs and sayings. You've got strong words at the ends of the lines which is something people often miss but I think it's really important in free verse. I did hesitate over the phrase 'hear you think' because we don't hear people think. Perhaps 'see you think' could have been another choice. But lots of fun and well constructed.
