Rod,
Congrats on your first place win in the Spring Contest. This entry is parts inspirational, romantic and humorous. The rhymes are excellent and the flow reads well. I love the bit of humor in the last stanza as a contrast to the first three.
All the best,
Eugene

Ciao!
Your poem brought to life the beauty of Spring.
Nature is full of zest and folks are full of energy too, I want to open windows, let the sunlight in, and start Spring cleaning.
I love new growth, especially those bright new yellow leaves on plants and I enjoy licking the raindrops from the tips of the leaves after a
drizzle.

Rod,
Congratulations on your first place win! Your poem is bursting with action, it made me want to run a marathon ((can only sprint with a walker).
Excellent poem; I'll bookcase it so I can feel its power next Spring.
Best wishes,
Cindy

loved this poem about Springtime and how it rejuvenates everyone even 81 old men can feel the joy and happiness that Spring brings after a long cold depressing winter.

Comment from Begin Again
As we age, the exuberant part of sringtime slips away...no more jumping and running ... at least if we want to stay in one piece, but we can still feel the fresh beginnings, the world coming alive again after a cold hard winter, and we can close our eyes and imagine.
smiles, Carol

that is just too cute! I think you have a winner, here!
Revitalized, bursting plants, romping squirrels, and anxious legs saying, um, I don't think so.
Lighthearted and happy, and then, the funny ending that made me laugh.
very good.

Comment from Marilyn Hamilton
An excellent entry for the Spring writing prompt. It may be true that we can no longer act out with the energy we once had in the Spring but we can still feel it in the newness of everything around us and enjoy watching it in the exuberance of children as they make new discoveries. Good luck in the contest.

Your poem eloquently reveals all the joys of spring. You have described the progress of moving into springtime and how life emerges. I had to laugh when I read your last line of the last stanza. That's a great surprise. Well done.
