This is an interesting read with several valid points to consider. Your strong argument for number three is supported by good evidence. Thank you for a thought-provoking piece.

Good sermon. You really know your preaching. You must have REALLY studdied Mathew, Mark, Luke, and John. I think those are the gosples. Correct me if I'm wrong. But I love this poem. If it's a poem. I'm Christian too.

Thank you for your kind comments, brother.
    Very much appreciated!

I would love to hear your story of how you became a Christian.

In my own case, I had a praying mother who helped me find Christ when I was 17 years old. I am now 88 years old and have found over the years God is faith to commend, and correct His children, but never to condemn us, since Jesus died to pay for all our sins.
    God bless you, Dennis

Hello Dennis,
I've often wondered what the unpardonable sin was. I've even worried that I may have committed it. Of course Jesus knew what Judas would do, just as he knows what each of us will do in response to the invitation to join him. There is so much that is a mystery to me. Obviously, God doesn't hold back good things from those who reject Him, though He certainly has the power and authority to do so. I think He wants to give everyone a chance to be saved, and will go out of His way to provide that opportunity, but in the end, we have a choice to make, and when it's time to answer for our actions, we'll have no one to blame but ourselves.
Have a blessed day.
Tom

Hi Tom, the way to be certain anyone is saved is for that person to simply trust Christ. Everyone who does so believe Him instantly receives eternal life forever.
Anyone unsure should read John 5:24 which confirms salvation for anyone who believes.

    Blessings brother, Dennis.

Unfortunately we have all come across a Judas or two perhaps more than even once I would imagine. It's a very devastating experience to have been betrayed by a friend. But forgiveness key as grudges bring darkness within.
Thanks for sharing
Best Wishes

Yes, even on the last night, Jesus pointed out who and what Judas was, and I'm not sure they heard Him. People can hear something all their lives, and yet not hear them, at the beginning of Christ revaluing who He was they want Ed to hurl Him off a cliff. When it's time, it's time., well done Dennis, beautifully written blessings Roy

Amen! In a world where everyone Knows death is coming one would think all would want to hear of the Savior who rose from the dead!
Glad we did, pray more will!

    Blessings, beloved brother, Dennis

It's cold post is quite an eye-opener. This one isn't particular: "2. Having an enemy in the group day and night who could bring no evidence of wrong doing against Him in a hostile, prejudiced court attests to the sinlessness of the Savior. But this one especially puzzles me: "hrist had earlier warned of the danger of the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and said there was no forgiveness for that crime "in this life or the life to come." hrist had earlier warned of the danger of the blasphemy against the Holy Spirit and said there was no forgiveness for that crime "in this life or the life to come." you have raise some room for a discussion.

The blasphemy against the Holy Spirit is to call Him a liar when he testifies through the scripture that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
He is God but also sinless man.

His death on the cross was on behalf of all people, and pays for all sins except one; the rejection of this truth.

Unfortunately there seems to be a typo error in the very last line where you quote John.Interesting points raised however,I've actually been wondering what would offend the Holy spirit recently and you have clarified this, anyway thanks for an interesting article.

Interesting! I disagree with one point. If Judas' motive was money and he held the treasury for the twelve, why didn't he just take the money and run?
The fact that Christ was crucified broke Judas' heart and caused him to take his own life. Why wasn't he satisfied with the outcome if that was his objective? I think there's a case to be made that he hoped the Savior would be forced to use his power to rise up against the Romans. When he submitted instead, Judas lost all hope.
No way we can judge one another with any accuracy. Good writing!

Hi, thanks for reading and commenting. The thing about the money was not about the money, but the trust the others showed in Judas by making him their treasurer. I was making the point, he could deceive others, but not Christ.
Remorse is not faith which alone saves when placed in Christ. Remorse will no doubt be a common experience in Hell.
The sin against the Holy Spirit is calling Him a liar. His ministry is to exalt Christ in a world of lost people, and when sinners cross the line of adamantly rejecting the testimony of God about His Son, they can never be saved. Of course, it is God alone who decides who has done that unforgivable sin.

At the last supper, Christ turned Judas over to Satan which I believe means there was no return.
    God bless, Dennis

This is very thought-provoking and it was interesting how you showed in the various points what was on the mind of Jesus when he chose Judas to be a disciple. Jesus already knew that he was a disciple that was going to betray him and he knew that that was a part of the overall plan from God and he chose Judas anyway. Patricia.
