I like this poem, but I had to look the definition of gimpage as I thought it may have been an offensive term. A note at the bottom of the poem may prevent confusion. Other than that, I like the rhymes and the overall message of the poem. Best wishes and happy writing!

I enjoyed your humorous poem. I could relate to this poem a lot because I have to always be doing something. It's an escape. I need to be constantly distracted. I'm trying to slowly undo this habit as it's bloody exhausting lol.
And very true when you've got nothing on and you don't have that structure you can lose track if time more easily. Thanks for sharing.
Best wishes,
Amelie

Good job, Mike, of making me think...I like the part about it being a monster that must be fed. Worry works that way, too.
I guess it does take a lot of planning to keep all your ducks in a row. I find I get more things done when I go back to work then I do all summer when I'm off. Guess one thing feeds on another.
Take care,
Rhonda

No doubt about it, since I can't work any longer, I miss having that structur, plus not being able to stand for very long and move around freely....everything take a lot longer.

It's funny how events, even age, can change you mode of doing things. I guess the structure thing is why I came back to work from retirement. I just couldn't do it.

I'm definitely a man of the daily routine. Anything out of the ordinary upsets the balance of my universe
