Alright, I had to six star the boy and Max his dog. This story was just too cute bit to smile at.

You are a rare and enjoyable talent, my friend!

Wow! How kind of you to comment on my stories and the author in such wonderful, and humbling ways. I am beyond thrilled. He was a very special boy and so was Patches.

Ah I love this. What a sweet story. Just a little boy and his best friend doggo playing cops and robbers. Well done thanks for sharing this cute enjoyable story.
Best wishes

A boy and his dog! This combination will always have the makings to a good story. Yours was no different.

I liked the thought process as every young boy wants to he a policeman, astronaut or cowboy ( huh, did I say cowboy?).

Nicely written and I see it's already an All Time Best!

Cheers,
John

Thanks, John.... Mikey had a lot of living to do in four years, but being a sheriff was his favorite. His daddy wasn't too happy when he found him dancing around the front yard in his sister's pink tutu one day. Maybe that's another one to share.

Excellent flash fiction. I was surprised when it was a shoe that dropped in the end. We must watch for those youngsters and their playing sheriff.

I enjoyed this very much, Carol. Thank you for sharing. :)

    Thank you, Gloria.
I only ha Mikey for four short years but he gave me a lot of memories to get through life without him. I appreciate your kindness, the comments and the stars.

He has an affinity for shoes. "Stifling a grin, the boy growled, "You're under arrest." ad the hero is applauded: But added, "Good dog." nice to see the proper hero getting recognition.

They were inseparable... and came away as a loving duo no matter what the crime, LOL Thank you for enjoying this one, Liz.

This is a darling flash. You have captured the young boy's imaginary crime scene, before revealing who the culprit was. The last line is precious.

Hilarious and cute.

Makes you wonder where the action is taking place and who the culprit is!

I can almost imagine a whole series on these two characters... "The sheriff and his Dog".

An amazing write up nonetheless. Great job Carol.

Thanks...I base the story on my little boy who passed when he was four. He was quite the mischievous one. Always shooting the neighbor and arresting him when he came home from work. Thank you for checking my story out. There are a few more in my portfolio and of course my novel...but its tough to jump into something like that.

Lol... Give me time, I'll be sure to go through some of your work. I'm basically 4 days old on Fanstory... Still navigating my way around.

    Bless his soul.

    Cheers, have a lovely weekend.

AaaHAHAHAHA!!! What a way to brighten my day! This is adorable -- I am thoroughly charmed (and caught off guard with that surprise ending).
Why is this not a contest entry!!!

I have won a contest during the last 30 days so I cen't enter another one...no problem. I just get more reviews when I post them outside of contests anyhow.

Why aren't you eligible, Carol? Have you been winning too many contests? this is a great flash which I enjoyed, not least because no violence was involved in its creation:)) Delightful image too to accompany it. Well done! Debbie

I won one...but it's been within the last 30 days so I am not eligible. It's okay...I had fun writing it and I posted it so my friends could read it. The other way is blind and I usually don't get many followers that way. Thank you so much!

Very amusing fifty words. The dog was never worried (his tail was wagging), even if his boy really needed his shoe back. The kid was surprised how easily his thief of a dog followed his command.

Yes, the sheriff was surprised when his pup listened and dropped the shoe...maybe a bit sloppier than before...but nothing was hurt in the making of the story. LOL
