There is a natural history museum here on Cape Cod where one can feed the butterflies in the summer. Your words capture the beauty and majesty of butterflies, they are indeed so beautiful and I imagine their wings do feel like velvet.

Thank you for seeing the real beauty in that which flutters by so fast as for some to only see a blur of color. You must be part of the loveliness all about us for this tiny creature to stop and give you time to admire what only God can make.

You're having some youthful reflections here, methinks, Patricia! Holding a butterfly at our age seems a little suspect! But they certainly are day-brighteners whenever we're lucky enough to have them alight nearby; that's for sure.
Nicely done Nonette-plus-one (is it called a Decadette? HAHAHAH!!! Like what I did there, Patricia?), which is a very tricky poem form. You managed to keep yours flowing nicely - like a butterfly! I enjoyed it very much. xoxo

I hope you know I was just teasing you a little; I meant absolutely no harm whatsoever.
I'm completely ignorant about poem forms. I thought Nonet had to be nine syllables first and then decrease from there. I was also just trying to be funny when I called it a Decadette. I hope you know I wasn't making fun of you in any way. I liked your poem, and sometimes humor (maybe I should put that in quotes!) doesn't translate well in reviews. Please accept my apology. xoxo

I was not offended at all and you have nothing to apologize for. I realize that I have been doing a lot of NONET poem so late and so people seem to think it might be one of those even when it has 10 lines. I just hope that you really enjoy the work that I do.
