This is such a powerful poem! It serves to tell the truth of the prejudice in this world toward those with a different skin color than white. It is very well written. Great job and happy writing!

This is an interesting and sad free verse. I'm not even sure black and white are colors, or degrees of light. The context of the poem is a bit, no, I'll be honest, it's very, very biased and sad. The world is not black and white, and neither are all the people, but... this poem paints a skewed and dishonest view of the world. I live in Chicago, and I know who is killing, robbing, burglarizing, and so much more... I know, who fills the prisons, make the schools war zones and the streets dangerous to walk through. Are their bad cops (of all colors) yes, there are bad people of all colors. Oh, well... we all know the truth, but sometimes a lie is easier to digest.
Good luck.
