I loved this story! I can see he is very intent on his "reading".
And yes, there are no donuts in the Bible that I know of....maybe Manna!
thank you for a wonderful story.

Lol. Yes, maybe manna. It seems that he remembers "do not steal" more than he remembers that moral in the preschool book about learning to share! Lol. Thanks so much for your super review.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAAH!!! I love this about children SOO very much!! I have thirty-three little mini notebooks filled cover-to-cover with adorable things my students have said throughout all my years of teaching voice, flute and piano lessons.
This one, though, is a CLASSIC, and it's been the best laugh of my day. Thank you for the bright spot. xoxox

I am so glad you enjoyed it. Talk about interpretaing the Bible to suit one's self! And it does say not to steal. I think his preschool teacher needs to redo the sharing lesson, perhaps with a different story-book! You should publish your anecdotes. All teachers of small children, and parents, would love such a book! Thanks so much for a great review.

That was my original idea with those. Then I got into writing my real, Lessons in the Key of Life, and the Noteworthy Quoes I just had done up @ UPS to distribute to new piano families I get.

Hello Wendy,
I think that some people still like to quote things from the bible that aren't in there, and they can't use the excuse of being unable to read either. What really got me excited about reading the bible, and that was after I already had seven kids, was an edition of an illustrated children's bible. It was like reading a big comic book, and even though there wasn't nearly the dialogue as the real book, it brought the bible home for me in a way that the written word hadn't before. Thanks for sharing this gal. God did say not to steal, I think He might have had donuts in mind.
Have a blessed evening.

That's pretty cool - God uses every means to make His word powerful. And yes, in J's mind at least, no stealing meant to leave his doughnuts alone. Maybe his preschool teacher will need to find a different book about sharing! Thanks for reviewing! Appreciated.

Oh my gosh! I've always loved it when young pre-readers pick up a book and confidently "read" aloud.
No question we will know exactly what was on their mind, regardless of the words on the page!
Jeremiah is precious!

Yes, he interprets everything according to what is important in his life! Lol. Thank you for reviewing, and even the thought of a six is pleasing to me.

This is a delightful story of what a little one 03 years old might do when he's sitting down with a book and pretending that he is reading. And I can see how he came up with the do not touch my donuts after having been read the book at his school. Children are amazing creatures and I love them and the things that they do. Remind me of the little boy that came home from school and told his mama that and Sandie school they talked about a cross eyed bear and when she questioned him further, she realized that he was talking about gladly the cross I'd bear. Patricia.

Nice story, Wendy. Reading is so very important. It looks like Miss Bianca is doing a great job with the kids. Jeremiah will probably grow up to be a baker.

I couldn't help but laugh as I read this. I have known many three-year-olds during my lifetime and this sounds perfectly normal to me. I completely understand the logic. This post is adorable.
