You know your stuff here and have all the lingo, seducing the reader with this anticipated sensual experience of full-bodied Bordeaux before leaving us in "tears" with the wine-taster's not so reverential conclusion. Oh, this is nice! I know nothing about fine wines, but you PUT ME THERE with the sommelier as he opened the Pomerol, smelled its bouquet, and savored its flavor. Good use of specific nouns to describe the smell and taste. Rod

Well done on touching all the senses, but Tobacco, chalk soil, wet gravel, and pencil lead don't sound like any wine I would like to drink. To each his own!!! Enjoy! Have a great day!
