Although your son was called back to heaven much too soon, Carol, I am smiling wide at this previous memory...and I believe he is too!

Be sure to introduce us on the other side.

I owe him a hug!

(You too!)

Oh, I guarantee I will ...I'm sure he made the impression when he got to Heaven and now he has more family around hm then I do here. I'll tell him you are his aunt...He'll say he already knew that.

That's a lovely reciprocal relationship between grandmother and grandson! Each as inventive as the other! Your story reads beautifully, Carol, and the dialogue is my favourite. You really bring these characters to life too with such incidental details as grandmother wiping her hands on her apron. Superb! Debbie

Actually it was beased on my own son who passed when he was 4...He loved to play cowboy and would arrest the neighbor every day when he came home from work. LOL I appreciate your kindness.

This is such a sweet, sweet story. As a new grandmother, I can understand that feeling of just overwhelming love. It is such a gift. Thanks for encapsulating it in your story!

thanks, Julie! I based the story on a memory about my little boy I lost. He was always playing cowboy in the backyard and waiting for my neighbor to come home so he could arrest him. It was a special memory after he passed.

thank you Brenda. I am thrilled that you enjoyed it. It came from a memory of my little boy who passed away shortly after his 4th birthday. He always played cowboy in our backyard and arrested the neighbor every day when he came home from work. I appreciate your thoughts.

This is a cute story. It has been a while since i've had any little ones around and remember how much fun it was when I did. I've got a great grandson due to be born in December.

Congratulations! Babies are so fun! I'm told we will be blessed with a great granddaughter in December as well. A wonderful time for gifts from God.

Thanks for the review and for enjoying my story.

Lovely story. Nobody seems to appreciate the loving relationship between grandmothers and grandsons anymore except the grandmothers and the grandsons. I miss those days of galloping about the yard or park or street and engaging in all kinds of made-up adventures with my grandson. We never ran out of dragons to slay or monsters to destroy. He is nineteen now. He'll soon be twenty. Now I have to play pretend all by myself. Thank you for your sweet sentimental story.

This story was based on a loving memory of the son I lost when he was four, but I agree that every grandchild should be cherished because those moments pass too quickly and we don't get another chance. My pretend lives in my stories now.

This was a sweet story, Carol. I thought Timmy's personality came across really well in his dialogue, which I thought was excellent. A really engaging story, I enjoyed reading it.

Very sweet. I'm sure this will touch all the grandparent's hearts and make them visit or call their grandchildren.

Timmy is very articulate for a preschooler. he must surely have intelligent parents to go with a cool grandma.

When I wrote this story, I was actually in Mom mode remembering my little four year old boy who passed. He always loved playing cowboy inthe backyard and arrested the neighbor every day when he cme home. It's strange that you mention how articulate he was as a preschooler, because fortunate for me, he was and left me an endless string of memories in a few short years. Glad you enjoyed.
