It's at night when I stand alone staring at the stars above that I question where my loved ones are and if they are watching from those twinkling stars. I know they guided many a ship across the seas, guided men lost in the sandy deserts, and at the same time let a young child wish upon them. They are a gift from God.

This is beautifully done! I often gaze at the night sky and try to imagine the "ancient truths". It helps to put our troubles in perspective. Thank you.

This is an excellent entry for the tanka contest. I wish I had acsix left for it.
One suggestion...

Consider "Quiet" stars instead of "Silent" stars. If somthing is silent. It wouldn't whisper.
