Excellent entry for the Write a Song contest. I also played D & D and and watch the lord of the rings. Partly, the reason was that I was married to a geek but I liked the movies too. D &D... not so much.
In my 20s I went to a startrek conversation. It was fun watching people dressed up like their favorite characters. I love started.

What can I say! Just great. What an inventive idea putting it to the tune of my favourite things. I would have been better to avoid the repetition of the word 'brings' in verses 1 and 2, and in the fourth verse the emphasis on the third line didn't seem to follow the pattern you'd set up in the rest of the poem and I had to re-read it several times to make it fit into the tune. But overall loved it, and I can think of a few geeks in my life it definitely applies to
