Hi again Debi!
I know Nicky B! She was nice enough to review my poem "You Grow Heroic" and rate it high! In fact I am going to return that favor just as soon as I comment on your tribute poem to her.
It is awesome for me to spend my time in this community over the last few days and see the landscape of people solidify, slowly but surely. You intoduced me first to Carol, whom I have had an ongoing conversation going with ever since. Then it was Nomi. Although I have not met him yet, I know and feel his loss. And here is Nicky B. with her Polish husband and three daughters. With each of your poems, the landscape of my new community comes more and more into focus.
And again, I thank you for it.
I was born on St. Patrick's Day. My mother's family is Irish. Does that mean I can qualify for a green beer, too?

Hahaha! Patrick, only if you belly up to the bar with me. LOL
My dad is part Irish, so I guess that means we may be related. Ok, I am getting silly now. No, I have been silly since I started writing this. But you are such a nice guy and you make me smile and that is the how these friendships flourish here.
Thanks for the awesome review and kind words and I will be over to see you within a day or so. In the meantime, you since you have me smiling. In I will start it right now and become your fan. So we will see you in a few.
By the way, besides being known as the tribute/biographical poet here I am also known as the sites chatter box. Haha. Thanks again. Debi

Chatter box? For the site? You have met your match, lassie! :-)
-
Hahaha!
-
It's ironic that the two replies discussing our battle to become the site's chatter boxes are the shortest replies we will probably ever make to each other. Just sayin'.
-
LOL, now that was funny!!

BTW, Patrick, I have added you to the birthday poem list. You have until March 17th to decide if you want to share a little or a lot with everyone,
And also you do have a choice if you want one. I never write anything without permission.

hey loved this Irish birthday poem to a fellow Fan story poet. I am part Irish on my mother's side of the family. I have 18 nationalities swirling in my bloodline including being part of the legendary lost tribe of the Cherokee Indians. DNA test reveals I have not much Indian ancestry but also have Basque, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Laplander, Mongolian, Nigerian, Norwegian, Russian, Scottish, Swedish, and Ukrainian. I would love to have you do another birthday poem on me. October 29, 30th I was born at 4 am the night nurse typed October 29 and refused to change the birth certificate.

No problem, Jake. I would be proud to. There was so much information in your last poem but if I remember right, we couldn't fit it all in there.
I will save all this info and be in touch for more by a week or so before then. Like for music and a more to fill it in. You have had an amazing life so people will want to hear more. I always remember yours because you are exactly ten days after mine. So we will be seeing you before then. Ok?
Thanks again, Jake. Love, Debi

Thank you so much Debi for sharing new information about our fan story family. The Irish connection reminds us that we are part of a worldwide family and not restricted by geographical boundaries.

I am babysitting my two-year-old granddaughter and trying to catch up on a months worth of thank you's in between her questions and her needs that only GRAMPS can handle. We've talked about cut and paste before. You may possibly see this again.
(Oh, you're welcome for the stars.)

This is a lovely poem. I don't think I know Nicki but I will check her out. Ireland must be beautiful. My granddaughter and her new husband just returned of there on their honeymoon. I wish I'd gone when I was younger as some of my DNA is Irish.

Hi Beth, thanks so very much for the lovely review and kind words for Nicki B's poem. She wants everyone to know how thankful she is too for the wishes. And thanks my dear friend for the lovely six stars. I also have a little Irish in me from my dad's side but a complete Scandinavian from my moms. Love, Debi

I enjoyed your poetic birthday and introductory tribute to Nicki B., one of our newer family members. I was not familiar with her work, but thanks to you, I was able to visit her portfolio and leave a review for one of her poems. That is the advantage of what you so lovingly do. You make us aware of the lives and contributions of our fellow writers.

Hi Santha, thank you so much for always being such a sweet friend and for always kind words for my tributes.
Yes, from Covid I thought it was pink eye, then somehow the infection got worse and I went blind in one eye. I am seeing the specialist every day. However, now there is a film in there that looks like a rainy and dusty window pane, so it has started to distract my good eye. So I just use my fingers to increase the font and I do the best I can that way on my ipad. You know me, I have to write and I have so many of these poems promised to people and I just can't let them down. So I think tomorrow I am going to post something telling what is going on. Yesterday they said that the doctor said if it isn't any better by next week then they will start by doing a stem cell transplant in my eye. And if that doesn't do it I will have to have a cornea transplant.
Dang, who would have thought covid could affect the eyes so harshly?
So thanks for asking and sorry for the long explanation and I appreciate your prayers so very much. I didn't realize Helen was going to do that. Karenina and Sally had asked if they could and I said I didn't want to make a big deal of it. But you can never have too many prayers, so thanks again my sweet friend. Lotsa love and hugs, Debi
