I feel I've seen this artwork before. Not on here, in the everyday world. My Aunt may have had this print. Sounds of loneliness. Some of us crave some alone time. Well-Done, Gypsy.
God bless,
Steve

Nothing! That was not on purpose, how can I fix it? I went back and changed it, hopefully it worked. I'm sorry, I've never read anything you've written that was less than six's and five's.

Singular sounds of alliteration inject sadness and loneliness into this haiku. There is a sense of haunting disconnection in this well-presented post. Thanks for sharing. Take care Debbie

I'm sure that poor monk has to be lonely. Thank you for sharing this lonely poem with us. I could feel it as I read and studied the presentation too. Thank you for sharing your talent with us.

I think both the monk and the heron share a similar feeling of loneliness, and that the monk can empathize with the lonely heron. I think that him not being visible in the picture adds to the degree of his own loneliness.
Cleverly done.

Gypsy,

I especially like your last two lines, but am not enamored with your first. I cannot envision a "sick and weary monk." Consider the imagery of possibly a hermit or an older infirmed person as an alternative concept.

Herons are real loners. I'm always surprised when I see more than one together. Sometimes, they have to get together otherwise, there wouldn't be any baby herons! Great presentation and lovely picture!

It IS a lonely sound, indeed. That is the perfect description of it. I heard one just today when my dog, Li'l Swish, and I were at the dog park, which also has an attached woods with a creek that runs through it. They're ENORMOUS birds, aren't they? And rather mysterious. I think you've captured their essence here beautifully in so few syllables. Lovely presentation, as well. xoxo

Thank you, Rachelle. The dog park sounds better than people park. 😆

A ZILLION times better...though, sadly, they do have to be their with their owners. (though usually, dog owners there are very nice.)

I enjoyed your poem. I like how shared nature and gave it emotoins. The heron's call becomes a symbol of isolation. I thought you shared a poem that really is touching. After reading it I had to pause and I could picture this in my head. Great work!
