Karen,
Congrats on winning the Sedoka Poem Contest. I loved the first stanza and your description of the deer. You express a powerful statement in your second stanza contrasting the two ways to shoot a deer. I cannot think why someone would harm such a gentle creature let alone shoot one.
Where I live here in Charlotte NC occasionally I've been privileged to see right outside my kitchen window a whole family of deer - a buck, and a mother and her fawn all feeding at my neighbors bird feeder.
All the best,
Eugene

Ciao mystery poem, you now have 4 votes.
I'm happy you too were the one taking a "shot " of this deer . She is such a pretty lady.
I despise those who hunt for sport.

I love the way your poem shares a moment. The final line, where you share relief at having captured the moment through a photograph rather than something more grim - was touching. I've often thought the same while watching deer from a distance. Great job!
