Hi
This is a good mix of words and artwork. Boy who names these butterflies. I looked them up to see what they look like.
Good luck in the contest.
Congrats on your 300th post.
Have a nice day.
Joan

Ciao mystery poet,

I delightful read!

I live at 700 metres and many of the wonders you speak of, I see daily.

We too have wildlife ( wild boar, deer, chamois, red fox, alpine marmot, squirrels etc ) and many many birds.

We have many butterflies of the Brown and Fritillary family!

The owl is on my town's emblem.

And a kilometre from where I live there is a beautiful botanical garden!

And last but not least we have churches with slate roofs , stone wall houses and beole pathways and pavee streets etc

PS : you need to check the requirements, your poem should have only 2 stanzas.

Best of luck!

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news: I read the contest rules closely and it specifies two stanzas of 5-7-7. Yours has three. It would be a shame for your milestone post to get DQd from the contest as fewer people will know about and read it, unless you don't care about that. I've docked a point simply to get your attention, and will add it back after you respond regardless of whether you change it or not (your piece isn't deficient, just noncompliant).

I have a pretty good vocabulary but there were lots of new words for me. Clints and grikes were two words I couldn't find. Your grasp of the English language is formidable.

Regards,

🦍
