Oh, this is so very good. You've been here for a bit more than a month and I am discovering your early posts. If ever a first Milestone Post spoke of promise and skill, here it is!
"the god of wither" is such a grand phrase. Certainly, he is vanquished by the rain, and oh, how each line of your creation is finely chiseled from a world of words to the finest few!
I notice your gentle kiss of alliteration. I've seen this in your posts which I've had the privilege to review.
A flower, an image of a contented woman ~ so perfectly selected!
I have seen your joy for precision and style in every one of your works...and I'm impressed and moved every time!

Terrific first post! Congrats! I thought your poem beautifully shares the power of rain. I love your word choices including the "voracious vines" and "reaching roots" striving to drink in the rain. It's a powerful poem. It was well written. And your rhyme is natural and really adds to the poem.

Again, I appreciate your comments concerning my poem. I love rhythm and rhyme in poetry, and always try to choose each syllable with as much care as possible. I'm sure I will talk to you again soon!

Obviously an English form of the French rondeau, which is a great form, a little restricted by the necessity for the two only permitted rhymes, but this is the 11 line version, but a great job, welcome to fanstory, blessings Roy
