This is a cute entry for the 5-7-5 writing prompt competition. Nice artwork of those begging doggy eyes, my cat looks the same way when she wants treats. Good presentation. Nicely done!

Ciao poet, you now have three votes.
I just finished re-watching Twelve Nights , it's a doc/film about a dog shelter in Taiwan.
There the dogs stay only 12 nights before they are put on the death list .
Every Thursday a vet comes and makes an inspection and writes the death list.
In the film you see the horrors. 'Many don't even survive a week there , they catch the dog flu.
Some eyes look as if in a haze , other eyes you can see clearly fear
The worse eyes are those you can see their sense of betrayal
Dogs are supposed to be our best friend but too many humans dont deserve their love and loyalty.
On Sundays people can visit the shelter and adopt. At the end of the 12 nights only three dogs" we met " in the film were adopted.
After the film was released in 2013 there was a 60% rise in adoption in shelters in Taiwan.
Sorry for the rant.

That is amazing! A little advertising and concern goes a long way.

The film is a tough watch I had to pause three times cause I was a mess, tears were streaming down.
But yes it brought awareness across the country and hopefully even further.

Reminded me of those sweet little pups who sadly wonder why they've been left behind in a shelter with so many unknowns instead of going with you, some one who promised to love them forever. So heartbreaking.

Nice poem. I love anything with dogs. You just can't go wrong writing about animals. I thought this was an interesting 5-7-5 poem. I really liked the photo of the dog to go with the poem too!
