Hi Gypsy, great poem about summer transitioning into autumn. thanks for telling about the picture being about the Irish goddess of the Earth, and how the end of the summer season heralds the harvest. Dove

Great job on this lovely Tanka, Gypsy. The care and attention to details makes your verses stand out.... especially your short ones. I really enjoyed reading it. Take care.

Love this tanka....
Sea of stems
Wave goodbye
To the end of summer
Very beautiful Gypsy.
You've got me wanting to write a modern tanka.
Take care,

you should, tanka is such a beautiful poetic form, classic and modern. There's a saying among artists, "learn the rules well so you can break them". I write my modern tanka within the classic one. They are 31 syllables or less with 5 lines. If you check the link, you'll see rules and some examples. I hope you do try it, I know you would be great

Thank you very much, Katiemae. Happy Memorial Day.

yea, i'm worried too... but not as much as before - i think kamala and walz have a better than good chance...

and trump is losing it even more than he already was LOL

Yes, I think so. It's very exciting. I think many Americans are ready for a change. The better choice is Kamala and Walz and many republicans, not maga, are tired of trump craziness.

Sometimes I think, wow my prayers worked! Then I realize... it's not just me, many Americans are praying lol

This is hypnotically beautiful, both in words and in the presentation. I love the personification of the wheat and its waving goodby to the summer. I love that image and will keep it in mind from this point forward whenever I see a field of it swaying back and forth. Nicely done, Miss Talent!! xoxox

This was beautiful. It was full of color and change. It marked the seasonal shift that starts in September and goes forward. Beautifully written. Gretchen

Great use of color in the poem and in the artwork. Both of these make for a great presentation. Yes, summer is leaving us and going into fall. My favorite season because of those gorgeous colors you used.

Yes, I like the summer but I love autumn. I can't wait for the cooler days, the change of colors, and crisp breeze.

Thank you very much, Big Sister 😘

It's sad when summer goes because that "warmth" does great abundance of fruits and vegetables that we don't get in the winter months. I like how the "stems wave goodbye."
