I really like this one Gypsy. It really has the feel of what I think Japanese poetry should be. I'm glad you wrote about Basho. He deserves some attention on this site.
Well done!

This poem reminds us that traveling this journey of life we must take time to enjoy the small things in life. A dew drop on a blade of grass can reflect the gorgeous sunshine. Thank you for sharing this poem and the wonderful presentation.

Yes, everyone must know the poet Basho. I like that the traveler stops during his long journey to observe the dewdrops on the blades of grass and see the reflection of the sunrise.

This poem is about Matsuo Basho (1644 â 1694); is the most famous Japanese poet. Basho is recognized as the greatest haiku master.
Yeah, his name rings a bell! Japan is a nice country to visit. I made a deployment to Japan for a six month stint. Loved Japan!
This is a five-line Japanese poetic form with no strict rules on syllable count but as brief as possible.
I also read that! This presentation is magnificent! You keep pumping out poems like sunflower seeds! You an endless Incubus! Lovely poem! A dandy. Really attractive to gaze upon, no doubt!

This was a very cool poem. I liked the imagery of someone looking into the wet grass, them a thousand sunrises are revealed in the tiny drops of dew. It was like rediscovering the world. Beautifully written. Gretchen

Now THAT is a contemplative soul!! Yikes! He makes all the rest of us seem so shallow by comparison, does he not?
Another beautiful presentation to complement your intriguing words. Xo
