Hmm, this is an interesting story. Your character is older, than those she/he is observing, so them not hearing or noticing is a bit of a stretch. And for a second, the idea of a stalker twist ending came to mind. But, it stayed wholesome.

Our past life exists in our memories and they are keen to remind us of our youth and how life is so very short, as suddenly we are old and we reflect with fondness, I enjoyed your journey here, love Dolly x
