An excellent write, Harry. Your compelling argument would certainly sway most for stronger controls of AI. Personally, it scares me to death already. But, as you say, if it can be put to good use, particularly in the realm of healthcare and building windmills, then who could argue? No errors noted and, as ever, eloquently expressed. Good luck! This is an excellent essay! I think you really delved deeply into the meat of this controversy. There are many benefits and drawbacks to AI, but I think you outlined a fair-minded approach of caution in moving forward

Well done. I have the same reservations about AI and agree with your suggestions. However, I am not as hopeful for humanity. A large swath of is lazy, fickle, and ignorant, and ripe for the plucking by AI manipulators. They are the group we need to focus on when debunking the misinformation created by AI. That is the challenge. Nice work. An enjoyable essay. Good luck in the contest. Stay well.

Harry,
Your story of Ai is compelling and maybe prophetic. Your argument is clear and concise, and you raise many important questions about it.The end is a great summation
Best wishes,
Cindy

"Humanity must learn to control all aspects of AI technology."
"AI does not guarantee truthfulness." So true.
"Will AI decide for itself that humans are no longer useful to its existence? Or will they seek to enslave humanity to make a world of their own design?" Terminator: I will be back!
Hmm, this post was very good. Was it, by any chance, AI-generated?
Good luck in the contest.

No use of AI involved. But I did use the computer for research. Thanks for the read and feedback.

I think this essay touches on a lot of current concerns. AI is both a blessing and a curse. As with most tools, it's how we use it that matters. I think that's why essays like this are important; we need to be mindful and careful as the world changes. Remember when Photoshop was a threat to truth? AI generation is a whole new level, isn't it?

You are so right, about how tools are used. And AI is a genuine threat to truth. Care must be taken to guard against the spill of misinformation. Thanks for taking the time to read and provide feedback.

I was a great fan of science fiction once, I still like it, but clever writing can also hide a darker side, whether fiction or fact, I cite I, robot. Written by Isaac Asiimove, who himself was a physicist, and, as sci fi writers are generally speaking, ahead of their time. I think wisdom and a cautious.intent is needed. Anything man creates demands caution. Beautifully written, blessings Roy
Typo : discontinuing dece(i)ption.

I greatly enjoyed reading your thoughts on AI. You've share the complexities of AI with such clarity. I think that this an important contribution to the conversation about AI's future. Great job! My two cents, I greatly prefer nuclear power plants. Windmills are horrible to look at and destroy the beauty of nature.

I think you have a point about windmill farms. A single old time windmill is another thing. Thanks for the read and feedback.
